No Save the Date Cards :(

Back to Home Page

I am very unhappy with Yours Truly Gifts and Paper. And I am going to vent about it, in the hopes that no one who reads my blog will deal with them.

Tom and I went in three weeks ago, found the exact save the date cards we wanted, chose our text and placed an order. As a show of good faith, we paid for half up front. The lady who took our order (Emily?) said that she would have a proof by that Thursday, would email it to me, and then get the order underway. Well, Thursday came and went with no word. I called on Friday, and after two rings, got a voicemail. I left a message asking for an update. The weekend passed with no word.
I called again on Monday, left another message, and called the "dire need" cell phone number. No return call. No call on Tuesday. Finally, on Wednesday, I got through to Ashley, who told me she would check on the status of my order with Emily and call me back. Well, you guessed it, no one called. After that, I called everyday, and threatened to pull the charge off the credit card if no one called me with an update. On Friday, Tom and I were both home early, so we headed out to the store.
Hanging on the locked door was a sign that said "back in five minutes." We waited for her, leaning on the wall beside the door. When she arrived, she rushed in, and immediately answered the ringing phone. Would you believe it? It was the company that was holding up our invitations. But everything is fine now, and your proof will be ready next week.
I asked her why it had taken two weeks to get to this point, and she whined at me about playing phone tag. She did not bother to explain why she hadn't given me a call at any point to let me know what the status of my order was.
So, Tom and I cancelled the order. She didn't offer to speed up the shipping, or get the save the date cards rushed to us, she made no accomodations, and in fact, didn't even argue with us when we said we wanted to cancel the order.
So, now you know why we are not sending out save the date cards. We wanted to, and we went to a lot of trouble to try and do so, but it just didn't work out. Oh, well... I'll just spend that money on flowers.
