"We're Way Ahead of the Curve,"

These famous words came from Tom, yesterday evening, as we were driving home.
Mom, Tom and I met with Amy at the Bake Shoppe yesterday. She says my cake design idea will be easy to do and look very pretty. We tasted several cake flavors, and the two favorites were red velvet and apricot. I didn't actually like the almond flavored cake (slight disappointment). But I thought the apricot cake was fresh and just fruity enough to taste really nice. So, we chose apricot, though it was very close with the red velvet. I've never liked red velvet, because it always comes with cream cheese icing, and I've never liked cream cheese icing. But red velvet with plain icing tastes wonderful.
Mom and I still have another appointment with a baker in Murfreesboro, and then we'll make the final decision. I think Tom and I should also buy a Publix cake and see what they taste like, so we can make a really informed decision. I'm not just looking for an excuse to have cake, honest.
After the cake appointment, Tom and I drove to Franklin to purchase our wedding rings. We chose matching gold rings with brush texture and engraving. (See link in previous post "The Breakdown" to see basic ring design). Tom was really happy that we bought both my engagement ring and our wedding rings from one store. Especially since Shane Co. offers free care for life (and replacement for irreparable damage). I highly recommend Shane Co., for all bridal jewelry.
We've also selected all the special dance songs. Father-daughter (Tim McGraw's "My Little Girl), Mother-Son (Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope you Dance") and of course, our first song, Brad Paisley's "Little Moments." And yes, we are aware those are all country songs, and no, that was not our intention.
So, with songs done, rings done, and cake almost done, all we have left is flowers. Everything after that is details. Yes, those details will be a pain in the ass, but, the majority of the planning and the big decisions will be done, and as Tom says, it puts us ahead of the curve.
